Description
“Invisible Dream” was born from a longing to capture the essence of dreams, those fleeting whispers of the subconscious. This painting became a portal, an invitation to peer into the invisible realms of the mind, where reality bends and imagination takes flight. A work of art painted with vibrant and vivid oil paints became my color collaborators. A peaceful sky blue bathes the canvas, setting the stage for the dreamlike celestial scene. Terracotta tones on top add a touch of warmth, echoing the connection between the conscious and unconscious mind. A soft glow emanates from the surreal hand, the artist’s hand, which peeks through the window. This light plays a central role, both in the dream and in the “real world”, illuminating the dreamlike scene within the mirror, a captivating image of a woman stepping on a pillow, a symbol of vulnerability and the delicate nature of dreams.
Space transforms into a layered dreamscape. The foreground depicts a room, a familiar setting where dreams often take root. The open window acts as a portal, revealing a glimpse of the external world (greenish landscape) further blurring the line between reality and imagination. The oval mirror becomes the focal point, a window into the subconscious, where the true magic unfolds. Pop Art’s bold language serves as my foundation, its graphic elements and bright colors perfectly suited to capture the captivating nature of dreams. Yet, Surrealism takes center stage, allowing me to manipulate perspective and defy logic. The disembodied hand, the woman stepping on a pillow within the mirror, all create a sense of wonder and intrigue.
The composition dances across the canvas. The beautiful, soft curves of the woman’s figure within the mirror contrast with the sharp lines of the window frame, adding a sense of tension and dynamism. The emphasis falls on the hand holding the brush, the artist’s tool for bringing the invisible dream to life.
